Would you trust your advertising agency if they don’t know about GDPR?
Would you see more valuable a software engineer who knows about microservices and machine learning?
It is not enough to be an expert in your field anymore; you also need to know what’s going on in your industry, almost in real time.
I’m not talking about taking online courses or buying Kindle books, I’m talking about knowing what people in your industry are saying. Those conversations are far more valuable (because they are recent) than any other pre-digested material. These are the raw materials you can draw conclusions and new learnings from.
That’s why I wrote this little tool to help you here. You can specify any topic, and it will tell you what the most relevant tweet is. Not this month, not this quarter, or lifetime, the most relevant tweet today.
Do you want to know what people are saying about GDPR? Here is -a funny- one:
“WARNING. In our butcher’s shop we might ask your name and remember your meat-related preferences. If you are worried about this, please enter the shop while shouting ‘I DO NOT AGREE!’, and we will henceforth pretend we don’t know you.”#GDPR HT @PhRoose cc @bobnease pic.twitter.com/sDhveLiBqj

As a bonus, it can tell you what’s the trending topic in your city (or any city you are interested in) and the most relevant tweet about on that topic.
Here is an example output:
